what we did

We walked to the shops this morning. It took nearly 20 minutes.
But he absolutely loved the freedom, which was totally worth it! Even though it was raining, and we both got quite wet because I hadn’t realised before we left the house.
We saw some cones, and some signs, so he shouted “NO!” and tried to climb on them.
We saw some leaves, and some sticks, which he stomped on.
We saw a stone, and he pointed at it and said “stone”.
And he tried to climb into the parcel hatch at the post office!
We went to the bakery and bought a butter pie for my lunch. He said “butter” and “bye bye” to the lady in the shop.
He’d had enough of walking by then, so asked for “up” and I carried him home and we played WOAH (he throws himself back and shouts “woah!”) while he giggled away.
Then we came home and he had some milk and is now snoozing away happily.

I really like this! It’s lovely writing, very vivid and works by a sort of minimalism: nothing too much is said, no lengthy scene-setting, etc.

    Well done!
